A bit of France in Cedarburg

In quaint downtown Cedarburg, the best french bakery (actually, we could just say the “best bakery”) in the area sits between an interesting gift store and a distillery. Boulangerie Du Monde is constantly cranking out treats hot from the oven all morning. We often go early on the weekends, order our staples, grab a cup of coffee, and then hit the counter at least two more times as fresh items arrive.

Our favorites are the pepito, which is a swirled pastry with a dark chocolate, and the pain au chocolate (sense a theme?). We also love the hot rolls, especially the raison walnut, and the baguettes. All with lots of butter, of course!

So many options . . .
