We love exploring and uncovering the real places that give a destination its character—whether they are close to home or halfway around the world. Nothing makes a trip more memorable than finding a family-run restaurant, neighborhood bar, quirky shop, or local landmark hiding among a sea of familiar chains.
For now, much of our exploring takes us around Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Punta Gorda, Florida, so you’ll find plenty of practical local discoveries from both areas. But our curiosity travels with us. Wherever we go, we’ll share the restaurants, small businesses, attractions, unexpected detours, and local experiences that feel genuinely connected to the community.
Food will always be a major part of the adventure, so expect plenty of dining recommendations—from casual comfort food and hidden neighborhood favorites to memorable meals worth planning a trip around.
